Key responsibilities

  • Define core mechanics, round objectives, scoring, and progression, with concise design documents that translate ideas into practical development tasks.

  • Partner with artists, developers, and content specialists to refine controls, visual feedback, question presentation, and the overall feel of play.
  • Review player feedback and gameplay results, prioritize improvements, and support feature testing and balancing before each release.

Skills and experience

  • Practical experience designing games or interactive experiences, supported by playable prototypes, released work, or a focused design portfolio.
  • A clear understanding of casual game loops, player motivation, usability, and the relationship between challenge and reward.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan focused research studies around onboarding, navigation, question comprehension, and session flow; define useful questions and select appropriate methods.
  • Prepare interview guides, playtest tasks, and participant criteria, then run sessions that give players room to describe their experience in their own words.
  • Combine observations, feedback, surveys, and available usage data to identify patterns and explain the impact of usability issues.
  • Present findings with clear evidence and actionable priorities, collaborate on solutions, and follow up with further testing to understand what improved.

  • Experience with usability testing, interviews, or other qualitative research methods, demonstrated through a portfolio, case study, or relevant project.
  • Strong observation, analysis, and writing skills, including the ability to distinguish evidence from assumptions and explain findings to a multidisciplinary team.
